MARCELLO FERRARA
Marcello Ferrara is the Legal Administrative Assistant for the Health Justice Program for Neighbourhood Legal Services. He assists the embedded legal services for patients of the Family Health Team at St. Michael’s Hospital and facilitates the Program’s collaboration with specialty legal clinics (HALCO, ARCH, and ALS) with primary healthcare providers to engage in cross-professional education and systemic advocacy around social determinants of health.
Marcello is a volunteer ESL teacher and ESL Program Coordinator for West Neighbourhood House, helping newcomers to improve their English language skills, learn more about settlement and community resources, learn about Canadian culture and history in a supportive environment, and meet new people. He is also Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), documentary filmmaker and writer. Over the years, Marcello has had the privilege of working and volunteering with children, youth, NGOs, trade organizations, businesses, filmmakers, refugees and immigrant, marginalized individuals in many different contexts. |
