Brendan is a senior staff housing lawyer at NLS and an onsite lawyer with the Health Justice Program. Originally from Winnipeg, he completed his JD at the University of Manitoba and his LLM at Osgoode Hall Law School before articling at Parkdale Community Legal Services. He has worked in the community legal system clinic since 2014.
Brendan is a movement lawyer with experience in migrant justice and anti-poverty community organizing. He takes a broad approach to housing law in order to support organized tenants, grassroots organizations and individual community members who are facing injustice in housing. He has represented encampment residents resisting eviction from public parks, rooming house tenants resisting mass eviction by developers, Indigenous social housing tenants exposing corruption within their housing provider, organized tenants on rent strike and more. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing music, and adventures in the wilderness. |
