Tenant's Rights Resources

If you are having a dispute with your landlord over maintenance or how their actions
or failure to act has impacted the enjoyment of your unit you can bring an
application to the Landlord and Tenant board.

Before bringing an application you should communicate the issue in writing to your
landlord and ask them to take some action, or stop some behaviour. This is called a
demand letter.

If your landlord does not respond to your demand letter the letter can still be helpful
to officially mark the date on which your made your landlord aware of the issue. If
you do pursue an application at the Landlord and Tenant Board the letter can be
used as evidence and help you get a remedy.
