Our Mission Statement
Neighbourhood Legal Services is a community based and operated legal aid clinic, serving and working with the low-income community of eastern-downtown Toronto.
We are dedicated to providing the low-income residents of our community with high quality legal advice, representation and services intended to promote their welfare.
We believe that the low-income residents of our community have a right to access to justice through effective legal representation, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to direct their own destinies.
We work with the community to address the root causes of poverty and systemic legal problems facing low-income people.
We are committed to the promotion of the values contained in the Ontario Human Rights Code, and to non-discrimination on the basis of race, creed, colour, national origin, political or religious affiliation, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family relationship, receipt of social assistance and/or disability.
